"Looks for Less" Blogger Fashion Challenge {Asheville Outlets}

Just a short while ago I wrote about the grand opening of the Asheville Outlets and what a literal breath of fresh air an outdoor mall was going to be. Fast forward a few months and here I am wearing an entire outfit purchased from Asheville Outlets for under $100 (including tax)!

I was contacted to participate in the Looks for Less Blogger Fashion Challenge and I jumped at the opportunity. If anyone can pull together a bargain deal of an outfit, I knew I could. I have lived most of my life near a sales rack! As soon as they handed me $100, away I went... challenge accepted!

This outfit is perfect for a fun night out! Whether it's drinks and dancing with the girls, dinner and a movie with a date, or just a chocolate overload at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge with your favorite person in the world, this outfit will be perfect.

What I really wanted to achieve in this challenge was to try to shop from as many stores as I could to show you guys that the good deals are literally everywhere at Asheville Outlets! I chose an outfit that was really me, because when I feel like I'm the best version of me, then my confidence soars. Now for the good part! Let me give you the run down of this outfit:

Gray Cardigan: Forever 21, $15
Sparkly Tank Top: Express, Original price $34.95, Sale price $21
Boyfriend Jeans: Gap, Original price $64.99, Sale price $33
Gray Wedge Sandals: Maurice's, Original price $39, Sale Price $20
Earrings: Forever 21 $4

After all was said and done (and after taxes), I spent right around $99. Without the great sale prices I would've paid roughly $160. That's $61 I saved!

I love the comfy material of the tank (Express) and the cardigan (Forever 21). The jeans (Gap) are trendy and cool but still classic enough to wear for years to come.

I'm in love with these sparkly wedge sandals (Maurice's)! Since I'm a shorty at 5'4", I'm always looking for a comfortable heel. A good heel gives me a bit of a confidence boost because it elongates my frame. However, wearing a wedge generally gives me more stability on my feet than a classic heel does. I can always wear a wedge for longer periods.

I'm a sucker for an unique earring (Forever 21), and these are super cute.

So there you have it!

An entire outfit for under $100!

Now I need YOUR HELP!

Starting on Monday, Asheville Outlets will feature one look each day from one of the eight bloggers that are in this challenge. I would love it if you would vote for me! I will let you know when I am on their page and when I could use that vote.

You can get a head start by liking Asheville Outlets Facebook Page now.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! I will owe you all foot massages or a million dollars :)

Festival Fun

Festival season is upon us guys! I'm actually hitting one up myself the first weekend in May in Memphis Tennessee. While we're there we are also going to tour Graceland which, my friends...it is hard to hold in my excitement about that bit of fun! It's not Coachella (which is on my bucket list) but planning what I'm going to wear to the Beale Street Music Festival is fun, fun, fun. The Bleachers are on repeat for me right now so I'm super stoked to see them perform Saturday night. I would love to have any of these in my arsenal to choose from:

Saturday Afternoon Girl

Jumpsuit: Forever 21, Sandals: can't remember

Riding back home after a birthday party on Saturday...this field was so peaceful and full of aromatic honeysuckle. We had to buy a bar of honeysuckle soap because we are so infatuated with the smell.

Fabulous Bathing Suits

I am feeling the excitement/sheer dread of bathing suit season again. But you know what? With bathing suits like these all my fears kind of melt away. These ladies look fabulous! I love the clean lines and that fringe too! Wow! I may have to have that one.

Workout in Style

One of the things that is so frustrating about getting these injuries from the car wreck is my inability to work out right now. I say frustrating...its really depressing too. I've had my moments this past week breaking down and having a full on pity party. I know the accident could have been so much worse. I have to remind myself that. Gratitude is what I have to focus on. If not, I end up going down this black hole of why me? and I just want my life back! and none of this was my fault! I get my stitches in my right knee out today. I'm hoping for the best and that my knee will be back to normal a few weeks after that. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. Before the accident I was working my way up to my first 5k. I was using the RunDouble fitness app on my phone and I loved it so so much. It linked directly to MyFitnessPal app too, gosh darnit. I'm not sure how everything will turn out now but I want to be hopeful that I can get back to where I was. Even if my knee does fully heal I don't know how running with an arm splint really works and if it will make my wrist swell, etc. I'll try it. In the meantime all of the lovely workout gear makes me miss it even more! I put together a styleboard to calm my nerves. Stay calm and make a styleboard right? Ha!

Sweater Dress Girl

Sweater Dress: Ebay, Scarf: Birthday Gift, Tights: Target, Heels: Forever 21

Happy Friday everyone! I am off to volunteer at my son's school in the media center today. I love it because I love libraries! Fridays are the days that my son's class gets is scheduled to visit so I get to hang out with him too. Best of both worlds!

This sweater dress was kind of an accidental purchase last year. I placed a bid for it on ebay thinking nah, I won't get it and ending up forgetting about it. Then got the email a few days later that it was mine. It was a good oops because it has been a nice cozy way to wear a dress in the cooler months.

Wish List

Wish List

I realize I'm a bit too much of a pear shape to pull off polka dots on my lower half in pants form but that doesn't stop me from drooling over them.

Jumpsuit Girl

Jumpsuit: Forever 21, Heels: Target, Sunnies: RayBan, Hairflower: DIY

Jumpsuits!! Pros: lightweight, full coverage, fun prints. Cons: going to the bathroom takes forever.
I had lots of fun wearing this! It was a blast. You either love these things or you hate them. But the response I got was really positive. I think most people are intrigued. And for as cheap as this was it doesn't really matter if you never wear it again. Actually, it will probably fall apart before I wear it as much as I would like. I also love how the legs have elastic bands so you can pull the legs as high or as low as you want to go! Limbo!

The Gift

I came home one day last week to find a mysterious little package on the table. Inside was this beautiful grandpa cardigan! A gift from my sweetie pie. I have been pretty much wearing it nonstop. I've remixed it about 4 different ways and I can still think of plenty more. It's so very cozy. Which is perfect because when I can get out of wearing a coat I will do it in a heartbeat. I will try not to bore you with seeing it too too many times, but it just might come back around for a visit before winter leaves me.

Red Stripe Red Circle

Happy Monday to all! I had a wonderful wonderful weekend! I did not want it to end. I got another birthday surprise on Sunday! Brian and I stopped to eat lunch a few towns away halfway through a long motorcycle ride. When we walked into the restaurant there was my mom, stepdad, aunt, brother and his fiance! It was soooooooo great! We had a great time talking, eating, catching up and eating some more! Brian and I were stuffed which made it really hard to get back on the bike. I got some excellent presents for the fall and a sweet dvd from my brother that might be pictures of us as kids in a slideshow...I've not watched it yet but he is known for doing that. I'm building myself up for crying puddles of tears.
This outfit was a casual Friday work outfit. I don't really wear jeans a great deal because I don't think they are the most flattering on me. I do have quite a bit of junk in the trunk ladies. Anyway, the red metal wheels behind this store really caught my eye. Riley, my son, helped me during the shoot. You'll see his final photo as well...He is a photo ham!

P.S. And thanks to all of you for all of the birthday wishes! You guys rock!

P.P.S. I am working on a giveaway for whenever I reach 15 followers. I will keep you up to date on what the item will be. Have a great week! ♥

and here he is doing a pose of his own (this is all him - I gave no directions!)
