A Little Spring

Broke out LOTS of thrifted things for this spring look a few weekends ago.

The Best Coat!

I saw this beautiful wool coat at a thrift store a few weeks before Christmas. I passed on it because at the time I was looking for something a little more festive for the holidays. I kinda forgot about it until I passed through the little thrift shop again in January. I saw it, remembered how much I liked it and thought What Am I Doing?! I better get this ASAP! It was $4.99 and it was money well spent!

Almost got a fully thrifted look! My little rain boots were a gift from my mom for Christmas but the pink fuzzy sweater and faded black jeans were thrifted.

Maple Syrup

I kinda feel like I should be heading out the front door over to the maple tree and checking the tap for some yummy maple syrup!

Western Vibes

Tee & Jeans: Thrifted, Bag: Ebay, Boots: Off Broadway

It's been raining NON-STOP here. But the sun broke out for a little bit today and brightened everything up. It was much needed! I feel like I am on slow speed this week. I haven't felt the least bit motivated!

Do enjoy this little wooly worm and some fun fall festive decorations.

A Late Summer

Sweater: Gap Outlet, Pants: Thrifted, Sandals: Blowfish via Amazon

Oh I'm sorry. I am vacationing in The Hamptons. Be back soon.
HA! I wish! This outfit makes me feel like I am in a beautiful seaside estate in the Hamptons.
Just taking a break from all things fall to do a little something else.

Chilly Mornings, Warm Afternoons

Cardigan: Thrifted Eddie Bauer, Tee: Walmart, Jeans: Target, Sandals: Birkenstocks, Hat: Scala (mens I think!)

The mornings are getting chilly here so fall has definitely arrived. I put out some of my fall decorations and well, let's face it, I've already been drinking pumpkin spice coffee for about 2 weeks now! I'm currently watching Halloween Baking Championship and Great British Baking Show and getting some major urges to bake!

Another Day Another Vintage Tee

Top: Vintage thrifted, Jeans: Walmart, Shoes: Van, Belt: Thrifted

I sure do love a vintage tee shirt! I found this one at a local college dorm clean out day...for free! Kids leave all kinds of things behind and in the days before COVID the college would post on Craigslist the day for the dorm room clean out. You could go stand in a line and wait for the doors to open. After that it was a free for all and you just grabbed what you could. I have gotten SO many good things over the years.

Oversized Tee

Tee: Vintage/Thrifted, Shorts: h&m, Sandals: Teva Midform

Oversized tee shirts have taken over my closet! I quickly grabbed this 90s NASCAR tee from the thrift store a few months back and I wear it all the time but just never grabbed a photo!

Back to School

Back to school…in my vintage tshirt from my very own high school! My mother-in-law gave this to me because, believe it or not, she WAS my English teacher! Little did I know that many, MANY years down the road my English teacher from the mid 90s would be my mother-in-law! I love it! I guess it’s just the chances when you live in a small town! Or is it fate? I’ll choose to believe the more romantic option, thank you.

We are homeschooling again this year so that first year "freak out" feeling isn't looming over me quite as much. My son is a freshman this year and I'm still a little nervous because, let's face it, I don't have a fancy degree in Education! Covid has put a halt on a lot of meetup groups and small co-ops. On a more positive note I do love the software we use and I'm enjoying creating and sourcing supplemental material. I LOVE the field trips too. Can't wait to head to Raleigh for the NC Museum of Natural Sciences!

Buffalo Plaid Girl

Things are getting festive around here! I love a classic red and black buffalo plaid. The big black and red squares get me into the Christmas spirit! It's just those long January and February days that I don't want to think about....So let's don't! YAY!

Comfy Casual Girl

Guys, the truth is, most days I'm running errands and I'm in some seriously sensible flats. This day was grocery day - I usually hit up about 3 different stores - and I need shoes that won't wreck my feet. I also need an outfit that isn't fussy and keeps me warmish in the freezing grocery stores. So, this outfit isn't that fashion forward or that chic but it is functional! Fashion CAN be functional!

Since it was a more casual outfit I took some liberties with my hair and added a quick side braid to create a little bit of a punk vibe. I added a chunky necklace to finish it off. I could've quickly changed into some high heel boots if I wanted to dress it up a little. But in true form, I was exhausted by the end of the shopping trip and just left these comfy little flats on.

Outfit details:
Sweater: H&M
Skirt & Leggings: Thrifted
Shoes: Jambu - these are cute
Necklace: Avon

Ruffle Girl

Well helloooo! Long time no see! The summer months are not my best blogging months. School's out and my son and I are on the go all the time. And when we're not, I'm getting housework done, taking hikes, we're making homemade ice cream and donuts or we are just too tired to do anything!

Nevertheless I do still get dressed everyday! It's just a lot of this same outfit. Leggings and a long top, shorts and hiking boots, or something really boring. I did go out to dinner with my husband and some couples he knows through his work so it gave me a chance to get a little bit more gussied up!

I love this little top! The ruffle is adorable and the back of the shirt is the best! The other best part is that I got it at the Goodwill for $3.75!

Ruffled Top: Thrifted
Printed Leggings: NY&Co (old)
Wedges: Target (old)

Winter White Girl

Sweater: Old Navy (last year I think), Skirt: Thrifted - no tag, Boots: Thrifted- Dolce Vita

I absolutely adore wearing all ivory or winter white or whatever you want to call it! This is the second time I've worn this outfit but I didn't get around to photographing the first time. My sweet and wonderful husband agreed to go with me to the Color Me Goodwill Fashion Show. Each designer had a color palette they chose to work with and then they shopped the Goodwill and reworked each item of clothing into a new design. It totally satisfied my obsessed with Project Runway and fashion shows in general all in one night! I mean, half of my outfit was thrifted from the Goodwill so I should've just ran a quick run down the runway to show everybody right? Wink wink. It's no surprise that my vote for the winning design came from the Black & White team.

I even surprised myself by styling my hair a little differently and actually getting it to work. It is a cross between a faux hawk and something from the 60's. It was a Tim Gunn make it work moment!

Oh and yes I know I need to dust. My dad is installing a skylight right where I take photos so my house is covered with an inch of dust....on EVERYTHING. That's ok. It lets beautiful, beautiful sunshine in and I will do anything for sunshine!
