I wanted to share a few more photos from the time I spent at my friend's lake house a few weeks back. Wow. Looking at these photos makes me want to go back so badly! I think these are some of my most favorite photos in a long while. I take my photos all by my lonesome with the help of a tripod and a remote. So for the photos to turn out as good as they did here - lighting, angles, time of day, etc - makes me happy. It is a hard thing to get right. It is a rare occurrence around here! Basically...just dumb luck. Really and truly the main reason they are so good is the gosh darn awesome setting. I would've liked to have the lake in the background but the lighting wasn't working when I tried to shoot that way. Only a professional photographer could've made that magic work! Maybe one day...

Black White and Red All Over Girl

I love me some good crazy pants let me tell you. I got these and thought, "I'll just wear them around the house"... And then low and behold I'm wearing them out in public. I slapped a necklace on and some red lipstick so my pajamas looked like acceptable clothes. Did it work? I'm not sure but I'm an old lady and I don't care. My 30 cats are just out of the frame off prowling in the grass.

Mother's Day Girl

Snowy Valetine Girl

I have had this red dress for over a year but I haven't gotten around to wearing it. It is short sleeved so I decided to to use black as my second color. I usually do not like pairing black and red together - I don't know why. Maybe it was all of those Babysitters Club books and Claudia that only wore black, red and white. I guess it just always feels dated to me!

We kind of wing Valentine's Day every year. Sometimes we go out, sometimes we stay in, sometimes we forget. But this year was special because we brought my son along. My husband showed my son how to formally ask a lady out on a "date", pull her chair out, napkin on your lap, etc. It was fun. My son said he had a wonderful Valentine's Day. That my MY heart bust. If he's happy, I'm happy. I was and still am so overwhelmed at how sweet and kind my husband is to his stepson.

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day wearing red or all black or boycotting it all together! There have definitely been years that I have done that! This year though I am very thankful and I feel very loved.

A Day Alone Girl

Last Saturday I spent the whole day doing whatever I wanted to. No kids and the hubby had to work. I was lazy but did a few crafts and went out thrifting. It was hot hot hot outside so I finished the afternoon sipping wine and watching Netflix. It was exactly what I needed after a wild crazy time at the beach. And by wild and crazy I mean I had the same bed time as my five year old each night because we were wore slap out.

I adore these red pants. I really do. I may need to invest in a new pair very soon but I will get the best out of these for the time being. I loved pairing the bright red with a soft pink. Used to be such a no-no that pink and red thing. Throwing caution to the wind today!
