A Little Spring

 Broke out LOTS of thrifted things for this spring look a few weekends ago.

Happy Heart Day Snoopy

Still can't believe I thrifted a vintage Snoopy tee for under $5. I was at a tiny little thrift store in the middle of nowhere western NC and I found it and new it was perfect!

I wore it to a family Valentine's dinner at the Melting Pot Social where we had some cheese and chocolate fondue!

Sunny Saturday

 

Over the weekend we got a chance to stop by one of our favorite pastry shops for some cappuccinos and breakfast. I enjoyed a blueberry muffin and a bite of a shared cinnamon roll. There really were far too many yummy treats to pick from. I could've had 3 breakfastSSS. 

 Also, the weather was SO beautiful! 

The Best Coat!

 

I saw this beautiful wool coat at a thrift store a few weeks before Christmas. I passed on it because at the time I was looking for something a little more festive for the holidays. I kinda forgot about it until I passed through the little thrift shop again in January. I saw it, remembered how much I liked it and thought What Am I Doing?! I better get this ASAP! It was $4.99 and it was money well spent!

Almost got a fully thrifted look! My little rain boots were a gift from my mom for Christmas but the pink fuzzy sweater and faded black jeans were thrifted.

It's getting harder and harder to find a good vintage sweatshirt at the thrifts anymore. I was lucky to fin this one! I found it at a store that has insane prices too. They still have everything marked under $5.00!!

Another Day Another Vintage Tee

I sure do love a vintage tee shirt! I found this one at a local college dorm clean out day...for free! Kids leave all kinds of things behind and in the days before COVID the college would post on Craigslist the day for the dorm room clean out. You could go stand in a line and wait for the doors to open. After that it was a free for all and you just grabbed what you could. I have gotten SO many good things over the years.

I'm back down at Faye's! I got an itch do go a little retro the day I needed to go to my son's awards ceremony. I had this outfit set aside for a little while because I finally took the pants in to get them taken up in the waist. They never have fit well in the waist but I just never got around to taking them in. Finally I did and I am so happy that they are done. I love love love the color green and these pants are perfect for summer. Especially with my knee still being a problem. It still swells and hurts from the car accident a few months back. I have to wear a brace and pants hide the brace well. Also, I am not wearing my arm splint/cast here but not because I am free of it all together but I just go without it from time to time. 

I loved this outfit and it renewed my love for vintage and pinup hairstyles!

Anyway! Let me show you this cute little pin curl I learned how to do with my bangs. It totally helps that "growing out the bangs" period. I found a video on you tube and just knew I had to try it. I made a video too so I could show you how to do it. It's so crazy easy!!!

Back at Faye's Girl

I got my act together last Sunday morning and dressed up for church. I am a weekend sleeper inner. I usually wait until the last minute to get up and get dressed. We go to a very casual church so most people are in jeans anyway. This last Sunday I decided to mix it up a little and wear a skirt. Whoa people! 

We stopped by Faye's Tanning, one of my old haunts for photos. I love this spot. I wish someone would open up a retro hair salon.

I wore my favorite sandals one last time before packing them in for a long winters nap. I'll miss you! Farewell little sandals! And...I'm going to be lazy in this one and sit in the grass.

Matching Game....and Scarf Swap!

Riley and I are always finding some new board game to play or new card games but I gotta tell you I love playing those memory matching card games where you flip the cards over one by one until you make a match. I love it. I try to get Riley to play with me but he ends up twisting my arm to build a railroad track or something. I've worn him completely out. Oh well, maybe in a few weeks he'll be ready again! In the meantime, I will play matchy matchy with my outfit here. 

Oh! And check out this most beautiful scarf from Angela at Fashionably Learning to Be. We are Scarf Swap partners and she sent me this absolutely gorgeous vintage scarf. It will be painful to send it back! Don't worry Angela, I will!
