Instagram Outfit 11.08.18

I keep some of my summer dresses around for layering in the fall and winter. It was so warm this day that I didn't even have to wear tights. Yay!

I found this cardigan at the thrift store and I've already worn it a million times. Here is one at Old navy that is similar and won't break the bank.

This exact dress is from Tobi.com. I would recommend sizing down because this is a Large and it's a little big up top. It's only $16!

The boots are Steve Madden from a few years ago but here is a Steve Madden pair that is similar. Or here is a dupe on Amazon for cheaper. When it comes to boots though, I try not to go the cheap route. They get so beat up in the bad weather of the winter that it's worth that extra $20 or $40 bucks.

The belt is thrifted too! The thrift store is THE best place to find leather belts. I haven't bought a brand new belt in I don't know how long! Here is one I found on Amazon that would look really cute!

Striped Summer Dress Girl

Sometimes I forget just how much I love a great body con dress! I love this new striped, stretchy summer dress from Tobi. It fits like a glove, which can sometimes make me a little shy to wear it! I try my best to give myself positive body affirmations and steer clear of calling out all of my flaws.

I'm sure I will wear this little dress with heels at some point with a cute fancy bra for the open back but this time I opted for a more casual look. I find myself wearing these Aldo black and gold sandals at least every other day!

Tobi.com has a huge selection of dresses. There are a lot of sexy ones in case you are looking to show off your summer body that you've been working on! If you're looking for something more modest, they do have beautiful maxi dresses too that would be perfect for a summer festival.

ALSO Tobi is now offering free shipping with no minimum purchase on all orders to Australia (http://www.tobi.com/au)!!!

Chambray is always a great color addition to black and white. This shirt is very, VERY old but you know what? That makes it even better!

Velvet Girl

Happy March! The husband and I had a super fun date night last week. Since that seems to be the only time I get dressed up I thought I would snap a few photos. Hey, look, These were shot with my cell phone! I don't even bother with the big Canon camera anymore!

Made by Me Girl

You guys!!! I made this top! I finally checked an item off of my bucket list!

Learn how to sew.

I took a class at our local community college and six weeks later I walked out with this cute, flowy tunic top. We met every Tuesday and worked off a pattern that the instructor gave us. She had about 4 patterns to chose from and this pattern was the most like me. She chose patterns that were beginner, easy and quick. I did chose a difficult fabric but I thought, if I'm taking the time to make a top then I want it to be the closest to what I would wear for REAL.

I had thought that when I was finished I would maybe dye it a mint green because I have another top that is similar colors. But in the end, I decided to keep it black and white. Maybe I will dye the other one mint green! I think I just couldn't stand the thought of screwing it up after all that work!

It may not have been the pattern I would've chose if I could make anything I wanted, but, I am very happy that I have a dressy top that covers my booty when I'm wearing leggings.

I think it would look great with a pair of high heeled black boots and a blazer for winter.

Here is the pattern I used:

You can get it here

I chose the "C" option. I also chose not to use two different fabrics. I figured I had enough on my plate without adding any more complications to it. Maybe next time! I would like to try either "A" or "D" for summer in a very airy crochet or lace.

Easing into Fall with...Versona

I am teaming up with Versona to highlight their Fall Look Book and to show you what I selected from my local Versona store to ease into the fall season!

After searching the store and having to make some really hard decisions, I finally when with this very soft and super cute striped tunic top.

Versona also sent me those beautifully earrings that I plan on styling up soon! I have a fun little idea for how to showcase them so I'll be back with that post!

Stripes or tunics may not be your thing so I snapped a couple of quick photos of items that caught my eye while I was browsing at my local Versona store.

This little number caught my eye because I love the color and the texture. It is a soft velvet and reminds me of something Courtney Love would've rocked in the 90s with a flannel shirt.

Now, this is THAT fall skirt that you can pair with tons of sweaters for the fall. I mean, come on. It screams FALL. It has a cute little 60s vibe too.

I'm always looking for items with a little bit of an edge to them. I really like these skinny jeans with the cool zipper detail. And that cropped sweater right next to it is perfect. Walk in, grab these two things, and walk out with a sweet little outfit. Just don't forget to pay for them :)

I think this is a pretty sexy outfit. Would look great for a business casual office party. I'm a sucker for a high waisted pant since I'm a shorty. Pair these with a platform high heel and your legs will look a mile long!

Jewels, laces, and more textures.

Bodysuits! I was so glad to see some affordable body suits in the store. I love these things and I wish they would have never went away. I had at least 3 of them back in high school. I loved never having to fight over getting a shirt to stay tucked into a skirt or pants.

OK! A few more snaps of the top that I went home with!

It has a hood and cute camel colored elbow pads. You know me - I love a great basic and I love attention to detail. The hood and the patches had me sold! I can dress it up or I can keep it casual.

Burgundy or maroon - whatever you want to call it - is still a hot color for fall. I added a pop of color with my earrings and lipstick. But I am feeling the urge to add some burgundy pieces in to my fall wardrobe!

Feather Print Girl

This black and white feather print skirt is one of my most favorite purchases. I got it last year in the summer time. I wore it with a loose black tank top and strappy black bralette. I love the cut and how it is a little bit shorter on the sides. It's really a summer skirt but I'm all about using summer skirts in the winter if the fabric is right. If it is too summery then no but this skirt works perfectly.  Of course, more black and white! When it works; it works!

Cardigan: Kohl's
Skirt: h&m
Boots: Thrifted, Dolce Vita
Belt: NY&Co
