Victorian Western Girl

Gap Velvet Blazer: Thrifted, Blouse: Target, Gap Jeans: Thrifted, Boots: Dan Post

From the waist up: Victorian school teacher. From the waist down: Cowgirl working on the ranch. Not officially my Halloween costume but maybe it can pass as one.

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!

Just wanted to share with you a beautiful sunset that I encountered at my mom's house one morning last week. So pretty.

Pinstripe Girl

Vest, Shirt, Pants, Purse: Thrifted, Heels: Modcloth

Menswear with a bit of frills and flowers for a typical day at work. I was back in my old spot where I dodged acorns falling to the ground only about a week or so ago. Evidently they are all on the ground now or have been stolen by squirrels. All was safe today. Just means winter is on it's way...

Here is how I've worn the vest and the shirt in the past:

Trouble With the Trend

Very rarely do I not like a new fashion trend. But there is just something about the new slipper trend that I can't quite put my finger on...I just don't think I like it. What do you think?Trouble With The Trend
By the way...Here is the LAST trend that I truly hated and knew right away that I hated it with a passion:

HAREM PANTS! Or what I like to call "When-CVS-is-out-of-Depends-pants". Ugh!

I guess these kind of fashion risks are what separates the women from the girls. And also why I will never be famous. Or a writer, for that matter, because I start every other sentence with the word "And".

The pros about the slipper is that they are comfortable.

The cons are...they make me think of Hugh Hefner.

A Day in the Life of Thrifting

Some people call it junk. I call it opportunities waiting to happen.

Went home with this!

J Crew dress pants with tags still on? Yes please. In my cart.

Everyone found a little something

Really regret not getting this dress. Would have been a great fall piece to add to the collection.

Party of Five Girl

Remember that show? Party of Five? I loved it. It was right in my line up of watching 90210 and Melrose Place. Don't judge ya'll. I feel a little bit like a walk-on character in this outfit. I love this dress - it works on so many different levels. I wear it in the summer time with sandals and now it has flowed right on into being my fall go to skirt. And...I had to show you my granny boots and granny socks.

DIY Orange Pomander Ball

A delicious smelling air freshener made from yummy ingredients you may already have in your kitchen!

You will need:

1. Ribbon
2. an Orange
3. Whole Cloves
4. Scissors

Go ahead and cut about a yard of ribbon. I used a wider wire ribbon. You can use whatever you want to. I did notice that the wire trimmed ribbon held it's shape a little bit better but it doesn't really matter.

I folded the ribbon in half

Lay ribbon flat and place the orange in the middle

Wrap ribbon around to the top of the orange

Crossover the ribbon on the bottom of the orange and bring back to the top. Should look something like this on the bottom:

On the other end, tie a knot

Start adding the cloves...this is the wonderful part because the smell of the orange zest mixes with the cloves...ahhhh

I hung mine on the floor lamp that is right by the front door hoping that the delicious orange clove smell would be the first thing a guest would experience
