The Big Purple Dinosaur Girl

When is the last time I wore this much color in an outfit post? It's been a while! I've been sticking to a lot of neutrals lately because I've been intrigued with the capsule wardrobe idea and having all pieces in my closet work well together. This pretty little purple dress was one that I snagged from the world's best cousin - Emily! She invited me over one weekend to raid her donate pile before it went to Goodwill heaven. Muah ha ha ha.... insert devilish grin...

I chose to pair it with my tall black boots and black leather belt. It was chilly this evening so I was NOT ready for sandals. Short sleeves were ok for inside but I was back to my big coat the minute I got outdoors. 70 degrees isn't here to stay just yet!

Dress: Gift; Kim Rogers (similar)
Boots: Goodwill; Dolce Vita (similar)

A Celebration Girl

Dress: NY&Co, Sandals: Dolce Vita, Bag: Charming Charlies

This outfit was two celebrations in one. The first being it was a night out for my birthday dinner and the second being I was finally able to get into this dress! I have had it for years but I've never been able to put it on and not feel like it was cutting me in two. It's linen so it is the wrinkley-est thing ever which is always so aggrevating but hey. Whatever! I went a little crazy on my birthday week and ate non-paleo foods but I am back at it now. I think I have mentioned it in passing on here but the paleo diet has really worked best for me and my husband as far as dieting goes. It helped me lose that last 10 pounds so I could get in this dress! I would like 10 more but I think I will need to incorporate some exercise for that. I'm just about ready too. I get through with physical therapy on my right knee very soon.

Sweater Dress Girl

Sweater Dress: Ebay, Scarf: Birthday Gift, Tights: Target, Heels: Forever 21

Happy Friday everyone! I am off to volunteer at my son's school in the media center today. I love it because I love libraries! Fridays are the days that my son's class gets is scheduled to visit so I get to hang out with him too. Best of both worlds!

This sweater dress was kind of an accidental purchase last year. I placed a bid for it on ebay thinking nah, I won't get it and ending up forgetting about it. Then got the email a few days later that it was mine. It was a good oops because it has been a nice cozy way to wear a dress in the cooler months.

A Moment Not Wasted Girl

Top: Kmart, Dress: Thrifted NY&Co, Socks: Target, Boots: Eddie Bauer

As usual, this is a top that I didn't get into rotation this summer but I really love it. For some reason I just do not wear it as much as I should or could. It's adorable! Maybe it is because it is prone to becoming really wrinkly at the drop of a hat. I don't know. But I looked for something in my fall clothes that I could pair it up with and bingo! This little dress worked perfectly. Hurray that it is still warm enough to go without tights!!!

Traded Girl

Top: my cousins - we traded at our yard sales! Skirt: Eddie Bauer, Sandals: Kohl's, Necklace: Avon (I think?)

A couple of weeks ago we had a big family yard sale and we weren't quite satisfied with the results. So we called up my cousin who lives a few towns over and asked if we could yard sale crash at her house the following weekend. She said yes and it was a HUGE success! We saved up that last little bit that went towards the beach trip. I traded her some comic books for her hubby for this top. YAY!!!

The Bag of Many Colors Girl

Dress: Modcloth, Shoes: Target. Bag: Vintage

I reach for this bag so many times because it goes with so many things! It's a little rag tag but I love it. It's the perfect size too.

I love this pretty little tree. It's right outside my son's window. There is a little birds nest on one branch that has been there since we moved in. I believe the first year we were here there was a family in there. But no one has been back since. I keep my fingers crossed that a lovely little bird will move back in soon!

photos by me and Brian. Thanks sweets!
