Lost Girl

Sweater: Thrifted (similar), Flannel: Woolrich (similar Woolrich), Skirt: NY&Co via Ebay (similar), Tights: Walmart, Boots: Thrifted (similar), Boots socks: DIY

Immediately after taking these photos I lost my phone. I had laid it on my car while I was setting up the camera. I was going to get a photo on my phone so I could quicky upload to Instagram and whatnot. I don't normally take my photo with me to outfit shoots but I did this time. Bad idea. My only guess is that after I folded up the tripod and put the camera back in the car, I drove away with the phone on the trunk of my car. When I got back home, which is about 5 minutes away, I realized I didn't have it. I drove back down where I was and it was no where to be seen. It wasn't even crushed in a million pieces on the road. Someone must have seen it and picked it up. That's all I can think of. We took all the steps with Verizon for lost phone drama. And I am up for a new one in a week or so. I am back to a dumb phone until then. It's been a blessing and a curse. The one thing I miss the most is my google calendar. I had that puppy set up with reminders throughout the day. Can't wait to get that back!

On another note, these little boot socks came from an old pair of camp socks of my husbands. I know, ewwwww right? No. I cut the foot of them off so it was just the top band. I'll show you the before and after in my next post. So easy. I guess this could be a "glamping" kind of outfit!

New Hair Girl

Silver Cardigan: Thrifted (similar), Black Top: Sears (similar), Gray Tank: Outlet Store (similar), Black Skirt: Express (old) (similar), Animal Print Leggings: NY&Co (similar), Boots: Seychelles

I finally got around to taking the plunge into adding some highlights to my hair. I can't say I am completely happy. Although, I thought I was in the salon. Has that ever happened to you? You love it when they whirl you around in the chair and you look in the mirror. "It's great! I love it!" I say. Then I get home and I start second guessing it. I'm looking at it in the lighting in my bedroom and saying hmmm.... Well, that is what I'm doing. I feel they are a bit too light. I really wanted a honey caramel kind of look to them. Here's an extreeeeeeeme close up!

Nothing horrible or out of the ordinary. Just not how I had it pictured in my head. But hey, that's hard to do. I didn't explain it well enough or she thought my reaction of I LOVE IT was an indicator of my happiness! LOL. I was happy....I think...Maybe...It's me - too finicky I guess! I have been cutting my own hair so it was good to have someone clean it up a bit. I have a goal to grow my layers out so she helped them lay a little bit better than what I had accomplished. I should have had some texturizing shears, really. But I'm going to grow it out so my hair cutting/layering episodes should soon just turn into a simple trim.

Really Loving...Neutrals

Oh man oh man I am really ready for spring this year. But who isn't? The polar vortex will do that to you I guess. I was talking with a friend and she mentioned that last summer we had a lot of rain. We had a bitter winter and a soggy last summer. I think we are all ready for those windows in the house to be open with fragrant cross breezes. I love it when my hydrangea starts to bloom and I can bring those beautiful bright blue blooms inside. Ahhhh..... In the meantime, let's get ready for the trends that are hitting for this upcoming season: Neutrals! Off whites, pale palettes and soft colors. I love this. Let's shed the black harshness and welcome the breezy whites. I am a sucker for simple, polished outfits that seem effortless. Something new (and will continue) is that I have included some plus size options in the selections below as well!

1. A basic neutral dress is a blank canvas. It is clean, polished and chic.

4. A neutral shoe can work miracles! With a pale shoe, you look a little taller because there is no harsh stop at the bottom of your body like with a dark shoe.

5. Easing into the trend with neutral accessories is a simple and budget friendly trick.

Olive Girl

Tank Tunic: Elle, Thrifted (similar), Skirt: Express, Thrifted (similar) lots on ebay too, Leggings: Family Dollar (similar), Boots: Keen Bern Baby Bern in Forest Night

This would've been a good green outfit for St. Patrick's Day. I didn't engage in any festivities on Monday. It's mostly about drinking green beer and I can't do that anymore! I'm trying to watch my carb intake so no Shepard's pie for me either. Especially after the terrible food I gorged on this weekend. Sigh. I started this week off feeling very, I don't know the word for it, so I guess just blue. I think I am just lacking some energy. I stayed up way too late on Friday night and Saturday night causing me to sleep in the next morning. Which just gets me all out of whack when I have to wake up at 5:45 on Monday. Yuck. Of course I ate way too recklessly - a.k.a. bad food! That never helps my energy level. Friday night we had Mexican food. Saturday morning was a Nutella and strawberry crepe (my first crepe ever). Saturday afternoon was fish and chips....followed by pizza! WHAT?! I wish I would've stopped on Sunday but I didn't. I had a greasy spoon cheeseburger and then tacos for dinner. See? I told you. A sheer disaster. I think this is contributing to my feeling a bit blah. A bit disappointed in myself. Not that it didn't all taste fantastic going down! But, I should've stopped somewhere around Saturday afternoon. I am a firm believer in a cheat meal or a reward day. But with my addictive personality, it soon turns into a bender weekend. I might need to pick up a chip at Celebrate Recovery for food bender weekends and really get committed on stopping the cycle.

I know if I would exercise I would feel much better. I know this....if I would just "do" this...

Really Loving....Haim

I love the new Target commercial that is on right now and the catchy little song that goes along with it. I stopped what I was doing and thought who is that? I googled it and found out it was Haim. My memory came rushing back of watching them on Saturday Night Live and really loving them but forgetting to do anything about it at the time.

Now I'm jamming to them all the time AND loving their style! This is all the motivation I needed to grow my hair out again.

Here's the song that reminded me how much I love these gals

Moto Girl

Moto jacket: Urban Outfitters (similar), Dress: Thrifted Old Navy (similar), Boots: Gianni Bini via Dillards (similar) I did see a pair on ebay too Necklace: Target (similar)

I keep on looking over this cream motorcycle jacket when I am grabbing outfit pieces. I thought the combination with the fuchsia dress would really be a good fit. I like it and it gets me hoping for spring.

I think I will keep my little ankle boots in rotation even into the summer. I don't know how practical that is when the temps soar but I have a feeling they would look great with summer dresses and bare legs. Bare legs! Ah! What's that?!
