A Night Out Girl

Cardgian: Thrifted (similar), Tunic (Walmart, similar), Blue Scarf: Walmart, Gray Scarf: DIY (details tomorrow), Leggings: Kohl's, Boots: Ebay (similar)

I'm glad I packed a lot of layers for our trip up to the mountains of Tennessee. I definitely needed them. It wasn't uncomfortably cold but there was still a spring chill in the air. On our last night there we decided to go to The Peddler and have a nice steak dinner. I was such a meat eater on this trip! It was crazy. Every time I turned around I was ordering a hamburger, steak or ribs! Yes, I was off the diet for this trip! Our dinner at The Peddler was probably the best dinner I have had in a very long time. Definitely the best steak. And the salad bar was awesome. I got a twice baked potato instead of plain because, well, I'm smart about things like that. No room for dessert but we had cupcakes waiting for us at home!

I have a DIY that I will post on how to make this gray scarf. SO easy. Really.

Really Loving...Neutrals

Oh man oh man I am really ready for spring this year. But who isn't? The polar vortex will do that to you I guess. I was talking with a friend and she mentioned that last summer we had a lot of rain. We had a bitter winter and a soggy last summer. I think we are all ready for those windows in the house to be open with fragrant cross breezes. I love it when my hydrangea starts to bloom and I can bring those beautiful bright blue blooms inside. Ahhhh..... In the meantime, let's get ready for the trends that are hitting for this upcoming season: Neutrals! Off whites, pale palettes and soft colors. I love this. Let's shed the black harshness and welcome the breezy whites. I am a sucker for simple, polished outfits that seem effortless. Something new (and will continue) is that I have included some plus size options in the selections below as well!

1. A basic neutral dress is a blank canvas. It is clean, polished and chic.

2. Let's face it. Basics, like blazers, never go out of style. This year choose a lighter shade.

3. Continue to look polished on your off days and weekends with casual relaxed neutrals.

4. A neutral shoe can work miracles! With a pale shoe, you look a little taller because there is no harsh stop at the bottom of your body like with a dark shoe.

5. Easing into the trend with neutral accessories is a simple and budget friendly trick.

The Bag of Many Colors Girl

Dress: Modcloth, Shoes: Target. Bag: Vintage

I reach for this bag so many times because it goes with so many things! It's a little rag tag but I love it. It's the perfect size too.

I love this pretty little tree. It's right outside my son's window. There is a little birds nest on one branch that has been there since we moved in. I believe the first year we were here there was a family in there. But no one has been back since. I keep my fingers crossed that a lovely little bird will move back in soon!

photos by me and Brian. Thanks sweets!
