Wine Colored Girl

It's still in the mid 80's here so, yes, I'm still wearing sandals. I picked up this wine colored tee from Old Navy for barely nothing and paired it with a summer skirt. I figured we could all just meet in the middle and enjoy the last of the warm weather.

A Sleeveless Kind of Summer Girl

It's a hot one today folks! I don't think I've worn sleeves all week. I'm not complaining! It's not 3 feet of snow so I sure ain't complaining. 

I picked this dress up at the free yard sale I go on and on about every year. I just wore it this one time. I ended up taking it over to my favorite consignment shop. I just kind of fell out of love with it. I mean, let's face it. It's suppose to be a dress and I had to wear it as a tunic. So I faced reality and sold it! But it was still too cute to not wear once.

Kimono Girl

I have had this kimono for a while but just haven't gotten around to wearing it yet. Do not ask me why. Actually, ask me. It's because my closet is a mess. It needs major help but I'm being lazy about it and rationalizing with myself that I am going to switch over to a spring wardrobe soon so why bother? Why bother cleaning up all the sweaters and scarves right now when I'm just going to be packing them up soon. But really, it's not going to be soon. Winter is here to stay for a few more weeks thanks to that pesky groundhog.

Let's see...what else. I'm still addicted to sugar. Paleo is still going strong for me. I've been posting recipes and meal photos over on Instagram. The hubby and I went to Gatlinburg last week end and I binged on bad, bad (super tasty) food and felt like crap. My skin suffered, my belly hurt, I was bloated beyond belief and felt like a whale. Was it worth it? I can't decide. Probably so. I don't know. The skin thing is what kills me because it's not like a tummy ache that goes away the next day. When my skin flares up it takes forever to get it back to normal. I was also super lazy on washing my face on vacation too. That definitely contributed to the disaster.

I am trying to make February the month I focus on fitness. My BIGGEST barrier in overall health. I have found a great hip hop dance class on Thursday nights that only costs $1 to attend. I LOVE it. I get great cardio and after an hour of dancing I feel like I have done something really fun. Fun, cheap exercise! I also have a Denise Austin Amazon Prime video that I do. I need to buy the Jillian one because she kicks my butt. Denise's is one I can do almost by memory and it hurts in just the right places at just the right amounts.

Ahhh...it feels so good to feel good! I'm so happy that I am done with my antibiotics and I am done with my sore throat and I am feeling better. Yes. 

I'm sorry for the lack of posts but I'll get back into the swing of things I promise. With the silly polarvortex, school being out and losing power I just lost the desire to try to cram blogging into my day. Then I went on a "Girls" bender and watched season 1 and 2. I never knew I would like that show but I do. Who knew! 

Oh and here is another one of my new necklaces I picked up with my Christmas moolah. Cute, cheap and chunky. Love it.

Beach Bound Girl

Me feeling all beachy last week before we left for the actual beach where I might have looked cute once for about 1 hour. Most other hours were spent soaking wet, sticky with sand or heavily sweating. Not cute.

I enjoyed spending time with my family after a fun birthday party for my cousins little boy with lots of pizza and cake! The weather was perfect and it was very relaxing in the shade. We stopped at this little spot on the way back home. It used to be up and going, then it was shut down and now it seems to be back up and going again as a little venue for community events. etc. I'm glad because it's like a tiny little western town if you squint really hard. :)

Workin' Blues

This morning I woke up against my will and immediately thought, "I need a day off". But I just had 2 days off. But it was for a beach trip. A very hot beach trip. Full of sand and a three year old. I'm talking about a day off. I don't want to have anything I need to do that day. Unless it is a massage appointment. Or raiding thrift stores that are a few towns away. That's the kind of day I need. Let's see...I do get Labor Day off. Whine whine..that's sooooo far away.
