Versona Grand Opening + $25 GIVEAWAY!

There's really no better way to spend your birthday than shopping with a gift certificate! Am I right or Am I right? That's what I did today and I loved it.

I was personally invited to stop by Versona's Grand Opening in Asheville and spend some time browsing, drooling and shopping! It just so happened to fall on my 37th birthday. Destiny? Maybe.

The best news is

THEY WANT TO GIVE YOU A $25 GIFT CERTIFICATE!

To enter the $25 gift card giveaway just click this link --->>> a Rafflecopter giveaway and follow the directions on how to get the most entries!

I will keep the giveaway open for 1 week and announce a winner on September 4th.

Here's a sneak peek inside of the store! Ahhh that new store smell!

Here's what I know about Versona  and their merchandise:

*They are going for a boutique look and feel. Very selective and only a limited amount. When the size selection you see that day is gone, the item is gone. They will then order a fresh set of something new and different.

*These clothes are priced to SELL. I LOVE these prices. Everything I saw that I wanted was right around $30 or CHEAPER. More expensive items are there, of course, but it's to be expected of items like long dresses, sweaters, etc that have more fabric.

*The fabrics are GOOD FABRICS. They are sturdy and can handle some wear. How do I know? I've bought a ton of really poorly made stuff only to throw it away the next year because it's trashed.

*Accessories to go with every clothing item. Chic jewelry in cool finishes.

Another thing I love is that they sell shapewear right there in the store. Perfect! I don't have to remember to go somewhere else to get the right look for what I'm wearing it under. You can try it all on at the same time. They also carry all those little fashion emergency things that I always remember I need...when I'm getting ready to go out and have no time!

I'll have an outfit post soon of what I chose! I'm in love with it!

Life Lately {Space Saving Dog Food & Water Station}

Boy oh boy was it was time for a dog food and water bowl area makeover.

It wasn't that the area was terrible to look at or anything, well, it kinda was. I just knew it could somehow be....better. So I enlisted the help of my dad, the master builder, to help me make my vision come to life. I wanted Josie (our pup) to have access to her food and water bowl but I wanted it to be disguised in a really cool way. One that didn't scream dog food! Dog toys! General mess!

Our kitchen and dining room are open but small. Having a cluttered corner was an eyesore. We really needed some storage for the large food bucket, toys, and her bandanna wardrobe of course!

Here is what Josie's corner of the kitchen looked like before:

I knew there was a better way...and I knew Josie wanted more.

I sketched out a rough and I mean rough draft of what I wanted. I knew I wanted the food and water tray to be hidden away when Josie wasn't using it. I also wanted a lot of storage. This is what my dad came up with!

I haven't found the perfect bowls to fit the space! For now, unfortunately, I'm having to use some plastic tupperware "bowls" for her. I'll keep looking for the perfect set.

It got the seal of approval!

Thanks Dad!

Bandanna Girl

This is just the second time I have worn this black and white crop top and ballet wrap skirt. The second time around I wanted to add some cute accessories to spice it up a bit. I was looking for a little silk scarf to tie around my neck when I came across this polka dot bandanna buried deep under mountains of scarves. I figured I could make it work!

Outfit details:
Crop Top: Amazon
Wrap Skirt: Vintage
Wedges: Target
Bandanna: Gift from my awesome mom!

Beetle Girl

I saw this happy little sunshine Volkswagen bug and could not stop thinking how great a throwback blog post would be! I pulled together my best, but still subtle, 70's outfit and took some photos. My son and I play the punch bug game every time we are in the car so this is also a bit of a homage to that too. Do you play that game too? When you see a Volkswagen bug you yell "punchbug (and the color). You then get to dole out a nice punch to someone in the car and you get a point. If you see a VW bug classic (like the one here) then you get two punches. If you see a VW van or bus it's four punches. My son usually gets all the hits because I'm driving and it's hard to see ones that he doesn't see! Here lately he's been wanting me to punch him harder when I see one but I just can't do it! Lol. I let him punch me as hard as he can and then I think, that's gonna leave a bruise! Ha!

"Looks for Less" Blogger Fashion Challenge {Asheville Outlets}

Just a short while ago I wrote about the grand opening of the Asheville Outlets and what a literal breath of fresh air an outdoor mall was going to be. Fast forward a few months and here I am wearing an entire outfit purchased from Asheville Outlets for under $100 (including tax)!

I was contacted to participate in the Looks for Less Blogger Fashion Challenge and I jumped at the opportunity. If anyone can pull together a bargain deal of an outfit, I knew I could. I have lived most of my life near a sales rack! As soon as they handed me $100, away I went... challenge accepted!

This outfit is perfect for a fun night out! Whether it's drinks and dancing with the girls, dinner and a movie with a date, or just a chocolate overload at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge with your favorite person in the world, this outfit will be perfect.

What I really wanted to achieve in this challenge was to try to shop from as many stores as I could to show you guys that the good deals are literally everywhere at Asheville Outlets! I chose an outfit that was really me, because when I feel like I'm the best version of me, then my confidence soars. Now for the good part! Let me give you the run down of this outfit:

Gray Cardigan: Forever 21, $15
Sparkly Tank Top: Express, Original price $34.95, Sale price $21
Boyfriend Jeans: Gap, Original price $64.99, Sale price $33
Gray Wedge Sandals: Maurice's, Original price $39, Sale Price $20
Earrings: Forever 21 $4

After all was said and done (and after taxes), I spent right around $99. Without the great sale prices I would've paid roughly $160. That's $61 I saved!

I love the comfy material of the tank (Express) and the cardigan (Forever 21). The jeans (Gap) are trendy and cool but still classic enough to wear for years to come.

I'm in love with these sparkly wedge sandals (Maurice's)! Since I'm a shorty at 5'4", I'm always looking for a comfortable heel. A good heel gives me a bit of a confidence boost because it elongates my frame. However, wearing a wedge generally gives me more stability on my feet than a classic heel does. I can always wear a wedge for longer periods.

I'm a sucker for an unique earring (Forever 21), and these are super cute.

So there you have it!

An entire outfit for under $100!

Now I need YOUR HELP!

Starting on Monday, Asheville Outlets will feature one look each day from one of the eight bloggers that are in this challenge. I would love it if you would vote for me! I will let you know when I am on their page and when I could use that vote.

You can get a head start by liking Asheville Outlets Facebook Page now.

THANKS EVERYONE!!!! I will owe you all foot massages or a million dollars :)

Ruffle Girl

Well helloooo! Long time no see! The summer months are not my best blogging months. School's out and my son and I are on the go all the time. And when we're not, I'm getting housework done, taking hikes, we're making homemade ice cream and donuts or we are just too tired to do anything!

Nevertheless I do still get dressed everyday! It's just a lot of this same outfit. Leggings and a long top, shorts and hiking boots, or something really boring. I did go out to dinner with my husband and some couples he knows through his work so it gave me a chance to get a little bit more gussied up!

I love this little top! The ruffle is adorable and the back of the shirt is the best! The other best part is that I got it at the Goodwill for $3.75!

Outfit details:
Ruffled Top: Thrifted
Printed Leggings: NY&Co (old)
Wedges: Target (old)
Wicker Bag: Thrifted
