DIY T-Shirt Scarf @ Asheville Grit

I'm over at Asheville Grit today with a T-Shirt Scarf Tutorial! I took a pin that has been collecting dust on my Pinterest board and put it to the test! I had a few roadblocks but all in all I think it was a Pin Win!

A Splash of Color Girl

Tee: Thrifted Old Navy (similar), Jeans: Thrifted Lee Curvy (similar), Tennies: New Balance (similar), Scarf: Walmart (similar)

Every day isn't fancy around these parts. Some days it's just jeans and a tee shirt. One thing that I keep in my bag of tricks is a bold color of lipstick that can add a splash of color to a simple outfit. Today I grabbed a deep burgundy color that just so happened matched this wall I was casually standing in front of...doing much of nothing...

For the Love of Boots

Y'all I don't know what to tell you other than I need therapy for how much I love boots. Tall boots, ankle boots, heeled boots, cowgirl boots. Sheesh. I can't help it. The rich colors and rustic feel just gets me every time. Makes me want to crunch the leaves under my feet and drink hot cider. Whoa! Hold me back!

Here's a few of my favorites I have fallen in love with while window shopping. I included a beautiful deep green pair for my sweet friend that is in the market for a pair! Links are down below if you need the deets.

Early Autumn Night Girl

Tee: Thrifted (similar), Jeans: TJ Maxx (similar) Hat: Mast General Store (men's) (similar), Boots: Gianni Bini  at Dillards (similar)
Location: Highland Brewing Company

Friday night we went to Highlands for some delicious root beer for me and regular suds for my hubby. I couldn't wait any longer to bust out my new hat I got a few months ago for my birthday. It was expensive (for me) at $40 but I have scrounged the thrift store with no luck for probably about a year now looking for something similar.  I felt comfortable and all nice and toasty. I'm glad I went with pants and a longish sleeve because the autumn chill is definitely in the air these days.

I am compromising with fall by wearing summer brights with my autumn ankle boots. See there? I can play nice!

Influenster & Ebay Gift Card

If you've been around these parts long enough you've heard me talk about Influenster before. Way back of now I entered the Ebay contest through Influenster where you had to write several Ebay reviews with a chance to win a $25 Ebay gift card. I've done my fair share of Ebay shopping so, yeah, I know my way around. I wrote my three reviews and happened to be one of the winners. Yay! It took awhile for my card to get here but it finally did. It took another few weeks for me to narrow down exactly what I wanted to spend it on. All of my well thought out gifts finally came in. Gifts? Gifts for others? Nope. That would've been the smart thing to do. That would've been the generous thing to do. I wasn't that forward thinking. It's all for me :)

Here's all my loot!

*mason jar straw sippin' lid
*nice variety of washi tape
*these little earrings came free with the kimono!

*easy breezy kimono that I'm ready to style up for fall with a maxi dress

*a girly scarf complete with lace and tassels. Perfect for fall.

Very happy with all my goodies! Thanks to Influenster and Ebay!

A Celebration Girl

Dress: NY&Co, Sandals: Dolce Vita, Bag: Charming Charlies

This outfit was two celebrations in one. The first being it was a night out for my birthday dinner and the second being I was finally able to get into this dress! I have had it for years but I've never been able to put it on and not feel like it was cutting me in two. It's linen so it is the wrinkley-est thing ever which is always so aggrevating but hey. Whatever! I went a little crazy on my birthday week and ate non-paleo foods but I am back at it now. I think I have mentioned it in passing on here but the paleo diet has really worked best for me and my husband as far as dieting goes. It helped me lose that last 10 pounds so I could get in this dress! I would like 10 more but I think I will need to incorporate some exercise for that. I'm just about ready too. I get through with physical therapy on my right knee very soon.

Access Fall Trends with Raise.com

I don't know about you but I have been stuck with an unwanted gift card before. There are certain stores that are great for some but just not my style. What I would do is just force myself to find something in the store that I wanted and call it a day. Well, not anymore. I wanted to stop by today and tell you guys about a new website I just recently learned about. Raise.com is a place where you can turn unused gift cards into cash! You can also shop for discounted gift cards too! You don't have to feel trapped with a gift card to a store that you're just not really feeling!

Here's a little peek at their website:

If you would like to buy a gift card head on over to Here. If you are in the market to sell a gift card you'll want to go Here.

Forgotten Summer Girl

Dress & Belt: Thrifted; Goodwill, Wedges: Chadwicks and then painted by me, Headband: Modcloth

I found these forgotten photos buried underneath other photos of the summer. This is a seersucker dress and it reminds me of deep southern lawyers sweating in the Mississippi heat - ok, that's just because I've watched too much Matlock or seen O Brother Where Art Thou too many times. It just screams Charleston to me which can only mean that I need a beach trip before it gets cold. Right?
