Happy Birthday Girl

Tank: NY&Co, Skirt: Thrifted, Belt: Thrifted, Sandals: Target (so old that they actually fell apart this very night. Sad)

Even though I loathe getting a year older I completely LOVE birthdays! I love surprises. My sweet, sweet husband got this idea in his head to do 12 days of birthday instead of 12 days of Christmas. Since Christmas gets so overwhelming and it's just not my favorite holiday because of the stress and the cold weather, I welcomed the birthday surprises! This is the second year he's done it and it's more like 6 days before birthday this year because we're only on one income. The gifts are practical and small. Like this year I've gotten some small kitchen gadgets that have been on my amazon wishlist for a while. A lemon zester and a julianne peeler. It's a fun little way to celebrate! I know, I know. I'm spoiled. I really am. But I try when his birthday rolls around to really to think of something that he wants. This year I made a rustic frame for an old picture of his grandfather that had been sitting in his to do pile forever. It's always more fun to give anyway!

Onto the fashion part of this post! I wore this little number out to dinner and a show about two weekends ago. It's taken forever for me to post and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I love pastels and especially creams and peaches. These are some of my most favorite sandals ever. Unfortunately, I can't wear them again because I've basically worn them out. They fell apart this night and I just don't think I can fix them. So I am on the hunt for a replacement.

Pale Palette Girl

Outfit: Thrifted, Boots: Steve Madden

Even though it is October, I am still enjoying wearing pastels. But I would love to find a deep burgundy sweater to wear with this skirt. That would kick it into fall!

Palazzo Girl

Blouse & Palazzo Pants: Thrifted, Flower pin: ?, Heels: F21, Headband: F21
It's a shame because these pants are basically like wearing pajamas to work. Why is it a shame? Well, because I don't have more pairs in more colors. There is no rule that says you can't wear pastels in the winter time so don't be afraid to pull out the pinks and pales. Why not - pale pink matches my pale non-existant tan. If I squeeze my cheeks hard enough, I get a little pink. There you have it.

This is about the 2nd time I've worn these shoes and about the 400th time I've thought about tossing them out. They are murdering my big toes. What is up shoe maker person? Can you not allow for enough room for a big toe please? It sounds funny to say "big toe".

See the little hearts on the shirt? Oh yeah...getting into the Valentine's spirit.

Flapper Girl

Outfit: Thrifted, Tights: ? Shoes: Shoe Dept

Boy, wearing this slip exposed threw some people for a loop! I had a few women tell me that my slip was showing and one guy said he didn't know if my skirt was too short or my slip was too long! Ha! I had people scratching their heads with this one. I just really love the lace detail on the slip and thought it added a lot of romance to this outfit. It ended up being one of my favorites outfits! I can't wait to give it a try in the summer too with a flowy sleeveless top. I think that will look dreamy and feminine.

I kinda felt a wee bit like a flapper!!! Let's do the Charleston!
