Pop of Neon Girl

Top: Target, Jeans: Marshalls, Sandals: Target, Clutch: Target, Necklace: Premier Jewelry

There was this gift card, see. It was addressed to Brian and me, see. It was a wedding gift. Wellllll....he mentioned in passing that I should just go to Target and get something for myself with it.
GONE.
Don't have to tell me twice! I went purposely looking for new black flat sandals. Umm...didn't get the black sandals. I got these brown ones instead since I can technically live with the black sandals I have. I know - first world problems right? But I do not have any brown flats. I had seen these on the website and sure enough, they had my size. I passed by this neon clutch on my way back to the shoes and it was on clearance. Hmm...I carried it around with me. When I saw this aztec tank on the sale rack, I knew all of this would be really cute to wear together. I am working around to either 1) me tapering these pants in to make them more of a skinny fit or 2) giving up and letting a professional do it.

Facelift Girl

Dress: Thrifted/Chadwicks, Heels: Bday gift from Hubs, Bracelet: an Avon necklace, Sunnies: dollar store

A Day in the Life of One Girl got a facelift! Whew! She needed it. What do you think? Do you like it? I love it. Designer Moorea at Freckled Nest really hooked me up. She listened and listened and listened to me and all of my little picky ideas and then kicked it up another notch and added all of this other cool stuff I had never even thought about!! She's awesome! If you're in the market for a new blog design, check them (and her) out.

And...thank you hubby for the gift of a lifetime! You are truly my best friend in the world. XO

I'm glad to be back to the land of the blogs. I have had a stressful week to say the least. Politics, yuck. I deactivated my facebook account right now because I am just on overload with the negativity. No watching the news for me either. I'm just unplugging. EXEPT for the blog! This is such a creative outlet for me. So theraputic to journal my day, have fun with fashion and see what all of you guys are doing too. Keeping it light and fluffy - for now.

Onto the outfit! I love love love this dress. It is the comfiest, best fitting dress in my closet. I've got a zoo trip planned this Sunday and I am very tempted to wear this with some flip flips and hair twisted up on top of my head. I get to do something else very fun but I can't tell ya because it's a surprise (that person cannot know yet!) Eeeeeeeek!

photos by hubs :) thanks sweets

5th Birthday

Some highlights from Riley's 5th birthday back in April. It was freeeezing that day. It never fails. Every year I decide to have it outside, it is freezing. The years I decided to have it inside, it's been pretty mediocre outside. Can't win for losing! But really, I don't think the kids even cared. It was just the adults that were chilled! My cousin Maggie made the cupcakes - they were so delicious and were exactly like Umizoomie - Riley's favorite show

Neutral Girl

Jacket: Thrifted Banana, Tank & Skirt: NY&Co, Wedges: Chadwicks

Black and tan. Neutrals that I love to combine together. Not as waitress-y as black and white.

Getting ready for a great weekend! I want to get lots of yard work done, install the solar lights, set up the flag holder just in time for Memorial Day, and buy MORE plants!

We have a birthday party to go to tonight - Happy early birthday Carrie! and my brother and his wife's baby shower tomorrow. First baby girl in the family. What will we do with a little girl?

I took my son in today for his kindergarten registration. I am so excited...because HE is excited. He didn't want to leave. We go back next week for a tour of the classrooms and to meet the teachers. Everyone today was so super sweet. Every staff member I came in contact with was so nice and so sweet. They even called me sweetheart! No one calls me sweetheart! :)

Duck Duck Goose Girl

Top: Target, Skirt: Eddie Bauer, Hat: Target, Scarf: Vintage, Sandals: Target

Wooo weee it's hot this week! I have been going out for lunch and spending each day outside. It's refreshing. Even if I do stick to the seat until the air starts circulating in the car. And then my seat belt brands my arm. Ouch. But it was nice in the shade down by the lake.

Poly Girl

Dress: Vintage, Bag & Shoes; Thrifted

I've had this little number hiding in the closet since last summer when I went on an ebay bender - long before the ole shopping ban came to town. This dress is one of a thousand reasons but the most prominent reason why the shopping ban came about in the first place.

Clothes were hiding in my closet.

Clothes that I had never worn.

Like this guy!

Polyster is not the best thing to wear on a day that ends up hitting the low 80s. But it was fun to wear to church. I immediately tore it off after trampsing around the grocery store and then lugging it all inside. I did feel like a pretty cool 1970s housewife that is having everyone over for fondue!
