First Day at Kindergarten

A little nervous on the way in...

But loosened up when we got into the classroom!

My little man who I was SCARED to death to bring home from the hospital because I thought I would break him is now growing up into full blown kid. I hung out with him for a little while in the classroom then I figured I better go or I would end up staying until lunch time and the teachers would wonder if I was ever going to leave. We said our goodbyes and he was very excited. I watched him do the pledge of allegiance from the hallway and then I waved at the teacher with watery eyes. I choked back tears until I just couldn't hold it in anymore. The lady holding the door going outside asked if I was going to be ok and said "Take a deep breath mom!" I waited until I got to the safety of my car and balled my eyes out. I quickly called my mom and we balled together until we talked ourselves back into reality.

I love you Riley. Have fun on this great adventure you have begun.

Back to School Girl

I saw Jessica's post over at What I Wore and I thought it would be fun to take a trip down memory lane myself! It's always fun to look back and see what you wore to those classic picture days at school. Love laughing at myself and then remembering ones that were my favorites. So weird to revisit! Picture day was a big deal back in the day.

Kindergarten: Bowl haircut!!
First Grade: Here's where it gets interesting. Obviously I decided to cut my own hair. On picture day, no less. Nice move Jess. Real nice.
Second Grade: I swear my son smiles just like this when he is shy.
Third Grade: I loved this dress!!! All time fave picture day photo

Fourth Grade: Looks like I must have discovered accessories this year. Plus a big zit on my chin. Yay.
Fifth Grade: Sporty Spice? Or going for the casual, no effort picture day
Sixth Grade: Rockin the "poof" ya'll. Check out those matching scrunchies!
Seventh Grade: Queen of the Perm. Don't forget your turtlenecks.

So fun! Can't wait to see my own son's photos. But I definitely do NOT want to rush it! I can see a lot of his same features in my early photos. That makes me all warm and fuzzy in my heart :)

Quite Done with it All

Very thankful that all of my school years are behind me. Long gone are the awkward years of high school and the endless night of going to school while working a full time job. That is behind me now and I am grateful.
