Pink Flower Girl

 Dress: Thrifted, Heels: Forever 21

Feeling very girly in pink today. I really don't want to lose being able to wear bright colors with the changing of the seasons. I'm going to try to keep incorporating color all the way into the cold months.I think it can be done. At least I hope!

Mixing Prints Girl

Pinstripe Dress: Urban Outfitters; Silk Blouse: Thrifted, Wedges: Target

One of my most favorite places to take outfit photos had now been completely torn down. I really liked taking photos there because it was always deserted and made for some relaxing opportunities to take my time and try to get it just right. Sometimes I have the time to do that, sometimes I don't. I have one rule about fashion blogging and that is I never want it to become a chore or a hassle. If I don't have time then I just don't do it. If I am spending time with my family or there is a book I want to read or my favorite show (Project Runway!) is on, I don't let blogging come between me and my favorite things to do. I love to keep it fresh, happy and a wonderful hobby. My son happened to be with me on this time and he was enjoying finding weird things on the ground a picking flowers for me. :)

This was my first attempt at mixing prints. I chose to stay with the same color palette so it would be easier. Maybe I will get braver and try something a little more tricky soon.

I know fall is approaching QUICKLY but I am determined to make every last bit of warm weather last as long as possible. I am procrastinating pulling out my fall items...I just can't face the fact that summer is leaving. Boo. Hoo. I will be forced to start some transitioning, I know, especially since I seem to not have an internal heater and I freeze all the time. (I run a heater almost all day in my office). But you will see me still wearing some summer items until I am forced to call it quits. Plus I've still got some summer photos lingering that need to get on the blog too. So don't give up on me just yet! I will get to a fall wardrobe soon...if I have to.

Flea Market Finds

We took a trip to "Paris of the South" flea market here in Asheville. It was lots of fun and we got to take a peek at a bunch of neat things. Actually, I drooled over a lot of neat things. I walked away with only one little cat knick knack for a whole $1. I think this trip was mostly just to get our feet wet. We will definitely be back soon. Oh! I even got to meet a fantastic little puppy. I thought I would share with you some of the wonderful things that caught my eye...

 Lots of pretties...

A lovely girl...

Ummm...

And finally...this little guy! He was resting in a hat box full of scarves! I wanted to steal him and take him home

A farewell to wearing shorts....even though this fall I am going to try the shorts with tights trend that I saw a lot of last year but didn't have the guts to give it a try.

Happy Birthday Girl

Dress: Vintage/Etsy, Shoes: Target, Hair flower: DIY, Belt: F21, Lace Gloves: Modcloth

How can I say this? Ummm..my birthday was awesome!! Yay! We started out the night at the Skybar with it's wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous views. I enjoyed a delicious Sangria while catching the view.

It was windy so it was so fun to have on such perfect skirt to blow in the wind! Weeee!

The sun started to set and we enjoyed every last drop before it disappeared. Time for dinner! We headed to one of my favorite restaurants, Bouchon, for a delicious French dinner. Yum. Yes, escargot ended up in my belly. Unfortunately, my camera battery died and I could take pics of my birthday dinner. Oh well! That means we will have to go back soon! :)

Photos by Brian and me :)

Thank you Brian for such a wonderful evening. It was beautiful and I wouldn't have wanted to share my special day with anyone else but you.

Friday night Brian surprised me with this:

We devoured this plate of cheese, fruit and summer sausages while we watched the sweet little romantic movie Something Borrowed. Brian had set up the air mattress in the living room floor with ten thousand pillows and big fluffy comforter so we could dine like the Romans! It was such a relaxing evening! We fell asleep snuggled up together :)

My grand finale gift was a gift certificate to Freckled Nest for a blog redesign! I am so completely excited and need to get to work immediately. I can't wait to have a fresh, beautiful blog!!! Thank you sweets!

Cropped Sweater Girl (Second Attempt)

Sweater & Jeans: Thrifted, Wedges: Target, Belt: Thrifted

I really enjoyed this second attempt with styling the cropped sweater much better. I don't really know why exactly other than the fact that I just felt more comfortable. So, for this look, I ditched the necklace and skirt and went with a lime green high waisted jean. I still went with the high waisted option because I don't want pull a B Spears showing of my tum tum. I changed the wide belt to a skinny belt and chose to add a second pop of color with the mustard colored wedges. Brian actually helped me with the shoes because I was a little torn between a pair of light pink or these. Mustard wins!

So tell me! Which one was your favorite??

Cropped Sweater Girl (First Attempt)

Sweater & Denim Skirt: Thrifted, Socks: Gap, Sandals: Target, Necklace: Charlotte Russe, Sunnies: Dollar Store

I have been a bit afraid of the cropped top trend because I'm just not that comfortable with my mid section. So I tried pairing it with this skirt for "Option Numero Uno". This option is more conservative because the skirt is high waisted and I added a wide belt for extra coverage. I wore this little outfit for a play date for my son with a girlfriend of mine and her son. We went to Fun Depot and played lots of arcade games and miniature bowling. Hello! Fun times!

Stayed tuned for Option Numero Dose! (Truth - I like the second way I styled this sweater better!)
